Birthdays & Beach Days

Celebrating the wonderful Tim's birthday! We were so glad to be down for the blessed event. It was so fun to see everyone there, of course we missed Russell, but the burgers were delish & the company was great!
Another day Leah & Roy came down to go to the beach & get some lunch. Roy was so cute in the sand, he couldn't rake in enough! Sadie was a different story, she loves to walk in it but when it was on her hands she seemed perplexed. Such a boy & girl! We ate at the new restaurant where Javier's used to be... a disappointment, but what did I expect? Later in the week my mom & Jim took Sadie & I to the new Javier's location in Crystal Cove. It was beautiful! Every detail is amazing, I would definitely recommend it for a great date night. The ambiance is perfect & the view is breathtaking. And the food... delicious, of course!
Sweet cousins... I love that they are so close in age. It is so fun to watch them interact as they get older. 9 months... holy moly!

Games & Babies

So , while we were home for the BYU games, the boys had a rough time of things, going home with one win, from the 4 matches. That's ok though, the season isn't over yet & I know they will be back with a vengeance this weekend. Home matches, here at BYU, so those of you around here... come & cheer them on. They LOVE their home crowd, it pumps them up! It was fun to be home for so long... but it was a long time to be away from Russell. While we were there it was Russell's cousin Becky's baby shower. I was happy to be able to be there to celebrate her little boy. Another cousin, Heidi, did a great job throwing the shower. We played the funniest game where she cut out pics of babies bodies & put celebs faces on them, you have to guess who the celeb is, it was surprisingly hard when they have no hair & extremely entertaining... hilarious! As always, my sister in law, Leah, & I had a good laugh. Becky is the cutest girl and she looks so great pregnant! I can't wait to see her little boy when we come home this summer! It is always fun to get together with Russell's HUGE family. I am so blessed to have married into the Holmes family, they are all so loving & so much fun! I really do feel like they are my family!
Grandpa & Sadie catching up on some stat reading.
My sweet Haley & Good ol' Steve. These 2 are so fun... love you both!
The beautiful mom to be Becky & her beautiful mom Sue
Another beautiful mom to be {Kayla is having girl #2, & I can't wait to meet her too!!}
Kayla, Sadie, Marie & Leah... love these girls!!
On with the posts... I haven't even made it to Easter yet! Give me time... I'll get there! While I'm here... a little Sadie update. She had her 9 month today. She is growing well, tall & skinny, she was 19 lbs. & 29 1/2 in. Go girl! We also learned that our little girl is in the 6% of people in the world who naturally have brown eyes & blond hair. We knew she was special! The Dr. said not to worry that she doesn't have interest in crawling, since she is just about to walk! He said some babies just don't... OK, whatever you say doc! So all is well in her little world, and therefore in ours as well! Here is her first experience with a lemon. This was the only funny face she made, after the initial shock she LOVED it and chewed it up!

Back...

...with my man & my Mac! We finally made it back home last night! Wow, I can't believe I'm actually saying I was glad to come back to Utah from sunny California... but my honey was here, so... It was so great to see Russ at the airport. Sadie had the biggest, sleepy smiles for her dad. I have a lot to catchup on so... here goes!
Here are some from one of the many trips to the beach with Nana & Papa. Sadie loved the sand but when the cold water touched her toes she lifted them right up off the ground. She's like her mom & Nana, warm Hawaii water, or none at all!
The cutest toes I've ever seen!

I had such a great time seeing all my long lost friends! This pic was when we all got together for a lunch at Javier's, despite the worst service they have ever had, it was a great time. Sadie & I met some new friends Chrissy & Naomi, it's so fun getting to know mom's with little girls Sadie's age for when we can make fun play dates this summer... it doesn't hurt when I actually get along with the mom! When Sadie saw Naomi she was so excited she was basically screaming at her. Naomi was just a little too tired for conversation... & I kept telling Sadie not to scare her new friend away. So what if my little girl is "rough around the edges" {that's for you Meg!} Niccole... Thanks for getting everyone together! You are the BEST & i can't wait to see you in May.... hopefully the beach will be involved & no sick children! I loved that we got to hang out numerous times & I could have dealt with a bit more! Since this post Brittany has had her baby boy!! Yay! Congrats to you Britt, Joe & baby Owen! Can't wait to see all you girls again!
Look at all these tan California girls... & then there is me... tear.
more to come...

A Little Update

Sorry no pictures of our trip to California yet... we are still here. Yes, my sweetie is all alone on our little girl's first Easter Sunday... for which she didn't even go to church in her cute little dress. The girl is sick, & has been for a few days now, it's really the first time she has been & it's the pits! I am feeling so bad for her. She has a horrible cough that turns her face red & makes her cry because it hurts so bad. Her nose is running down her sweet little face all day long. And last night she wanted to sleep on me all night... the problem with that is, she is a mover & a shaker in bed. So she doesn't stay asleep for very long, neither do I for that matter, & she wakes up restless & frustrated. But, will not sleep on her own. She just wants that extra love & attention. She finally is down now taking a good nap & I am praying she will start to regain her strength & happiness. It is so heartbreaking to deal with a sick little one. The first time she woke up congested last night, I tried eveything I could think of to console her. Finally, I decided to take her into the shower to try & break up the mucous. The minute, no exaggeration, the water came on she was passed out in my arms. What can I say the girl loves the sound of water that much I guess! She has still been smiling through the days, but has not been her usual laughy, happy self. This morning was her first time having a temperature at 102, kind of scary but it went back down pretty fast. So, my time here has been sucked up trying to keep her well, I obviously failed miserably, as she still got the full blown sickness thats going around! We DO have lots of happy things to post about when we get home, such as birthday BBQ's, baby showers, games, trips to the park, & even a little photo shoot in her Easter dress {I couldn't let it go to waste!} the list goes on! Hope everyone is having a great Easter... with healthy loved ones around! xo

A Day in the Life

Pretty much every morning Sadie loves to sit on top of our couch & stare out the window. She watches the cars & people go by...
... and apparently loves the way that the glass tastes.
We loved this, she was totally lounging in her high chair.
Standing is 'SO IN' right now! Crawling... 'IS OUT'... in case you hadn't heard! This one will not crawl, she can but she wont. We have been trying all weekend to get some good crawling going on, but she just reaches for your hands to pull herself up. It's so funny because as soon as she does this she is a happy camper. She tries to let go of your hands, she thinks she can do it herself, she stands for, maybe 4 seconds... & realizes she does need a bit of help. But she is on her way & very ambitious!
Her Dad will sometimes give her guitar lessons. She loves it!
This was how we fond her the other night... snuggled under her teddy & in classic stink bug position, she is always sleeping with her bum in the air, I just love it!
Well, it took me literally 3 days to get this post up and running {blogger was not allowing me to get the pics up} So sorry you've been staring at the last post so long. I have a few more updates to catch us up... so stay tuned for more!

Last Weekend

Dad's cutest cheerleader

Sadie loving her Grandpa. She just adores him!

I love this picture of Sadie & Tami. She has so much fun with her Grandma when she visits. For Christmas Tami gave her a cd set of primary songs. Sadie seriously LOVES it! When we are in the car I will put it on & she is so happy, she sings along, in her little coos. It is the sweetest thing, so basically that's all I listen to now!

The Group. It's so fun having Dane & Jess at the games. We also have our cousins Brendon, Stephanie, & Kari there every week to cheer on the team! It's great to have a section of family & friends.

Last, but not least. My 2 favorite people!

New Bibs on My Sprinkles Blog!

I just finished some new bibs for my friend Allie to take to her at home boutique. I am really excited about making them & have been doing some to match the burp cloth sets, plus extras for fun! the ones above are my favorites! I had a hard time not keeping them ALL for Sadie, but she's too spoiled already... did I really just say that!? A girl can NEVER be TOO spoiled, can she?? I have started out doing one of a kind things. I don't know if people will like that or if they would rather be able to just see something & order the exact thing... guess I'll find out. I will be adding more burp cloth sets to the blog very soon. So if you're in the market for a baby gift... or a treat for your own little one, I'd be happy to oblige! And thanks to those of you who have helped me out by putting the link to the Sprinkles page on your blog. I really appreciate the support! And if you haven't... feel free! Word of mouth is the best advertising in our little community! Since being a member I've come to realize that everyone knows everyone else!! Especially in Southern California! Thanks again! xo Here is the link to my blog...Sprinkles
